Is DEAP a state agency?

  •  No, DEAP is not a state agency. DEAP receives funding from both state and federal agencies but is a not-for-profit organization.

 

 

Where does DEAP get its funding? 

  •  DEAP gets its funding from state and federal sources, donations, and fund raising.

Can I report a concern about child/adult abuse or neglect to DEAP?

  •  Any concerns or suspicions of child or adult abuse or neglect must be directly reported to the Centralized Intake Hotline at 866-820-5437.

How do I find child care?

  •  Please fill out the Child Care Need Form, available at http://deapccrr.com, or contact our office. Once the form is filled out, we will provide a customized child care referral to meet what you're looking for.

 

Is there help paying for child care?

  •  Yes. Famiies may qualify for the Best Beginnings Child Care Scholarship, which helps pay for child care during work, school, or TANF hours. Eligibility is based on the family's gross monthly income and other factors. Please call the Eligibility Specialist at 800-224-6034 or 406-234-6034 for assistance or more informatin. There is no waiting list for services.

 Does DEAP help with paying rent or fuel assistance?

  •  No, the Office of Public Assistance would be the agency to see for help with rent or fuel costs.

 Can a relative get paid to watch my child?

  • Yes, if they meet all of the qualifications required by DEAP policy. In the case of state paid child care, a relative, friend or neighbor may apply to become a Legally Unregistered Provider (LUP) to watch 2 children OR al of the children from one family.  The LUP must pass background checks and complete an application before receiving payment.

Do I call DEAP about a child care complaint?

  •  All child care complaints must be reported to Child Care Licensing. Any other concerns, questions, comments or suspicions are to be directed there also.

Do I get food stamps from DEAP?

  •  No, you must apply at the Office of Public Assistance. WIC provides grocery vouchers for healthy foods such as milk, cheese, cereal, eggs, fruits & vegetables, whole grains, formula and baby food for their participating families.
