Lifespan Respite
Lifespan Respite is a community-based program that provides information and referral to connect families with trained respite providers who can give them a break from the extraordinary demands of providing ongoing care for their loved ones. Lifespan Respite is a service designated to meet the safety and daily care needs of the individual and the needs of that individual’s care giver thereby reducing stress caused by the demands of providing constant care to the individual.
Who is Eligible? Lifespan Respite is available to families and individuals who identify a critical need for relief, regardless of age, income, race ethnicity, special need or situation.
How to make referral or access services? DEAP provides services in the following counties: Carter, Custer, Dawson, Fallon, Garfield, Powder River, Prairie, Rosebud, Treasure and Wibaux. The contact individual for Lifespan Respite services at DEAP is:
What services are provided? These services may be giving a break to the caregiver for short periods of time, transportation, emotional support, running errands, recreation or leisure activities for the individual and caregiver, summer camp, or other related activity. Respite may be provided to an individual in their own home, in the home of the respite provider, or in appropriate locations relating to the above-mentioned services.
