DEAP Programs
Child Care
Resource and Referral
determines eligibility for Best Beginnings, Montana’s child care financial
assistance program, provides referrals to licensed and registered child care
providers, trains child care providers, and advocates for child care services in
the communities they serve.
WIC
is the Special
Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, which provides
valuable nutrition and health information. WIC helps families learn how to make
healthy lifelong nutrition choices and offers nutritious supplemental foods.
Lifespan Respite
provides information and
referrals to connect families with trained respite providers who can give them a
break from the extraordinary demands of providing ongoing care for their loved
ones. Services include in-home care and emotional support.
Evaluation
and Diagnosis Services
provide a comprehensive
developmental evaluation for children birth to 5 years of age and adults with
developmental disabilities. Team members collaborate to share information and
then report their findings and make recommendations to the family. The
evaluation team includes a pediatrician, school psychologist, speech pathologist,
audiologist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, and a clinic director.
A nutritionist is available for consultation. The team determines a diagnosis of delay or disability, and eligibility for
services.
IDEA Infant
& Toddler
also known as Part C, is
designed to enhance the development of children under age 3 who have
developmental delays or suspected developmental delays. This program supports
the family’s capacity to meet their child’s special needs.
Family Education
and Support
is a home-based program
that provides services to families who have children with developmental
disabilities or who are at risk for delays. A Family Support Specialist assists
the family members with information, training, emotional support, and
coordination of other services. Intensive Family Education and Support Services
are designed to provide additional resources to meet the exceptional needs of an
eligible child or young adult.
Adult
Supported Living Services
assist and support adults
with developmental disabilities with normal day-to-day living, to ensure medical
needs are met and to help provide a normal social life within the community.
Community Supports
provides support to adults
with developmental disabilities in living more independently in their community
of choice. A variety of supports can be provided depending on needs but can
include transportation, adaptive equipment, daily living skills, environmental
modification and basic academic, social and vocational skills.
Preadmission Screening and Annual
Resident Reviews (PASARR)
provides services to
nursing facility residents or applicants. Evaluations are provided to determine
if individuals have mental retardation or related conditions and recommend the
most appropriate placement. Annual Resident Reviews are provided to assess the
ongoing need and provide specialized services.
ln-Home
Family Services/Family Based Services
serves families in crisis.
Intensive in-home assistance with a Support Specialist for 90 days helps
families learn parenting skills, communication, and anger management.
In-Home
Partnership Services
helps families build
parenting and related skills. Partnerships provide supervised visitation, family
group conferencing, abuse prevention and reunification services. Intervention is
designed to decrease the family’s dependence on existing service systems.
Skyreach Youth Home
is a licensed residential
facility for individuals who have severe disabilities. A homelike atmosphere is
maintained while individuals receive physical care and training in the areas of
self-help skills and social and community integration. Skyreach Youth Home
coordinates with the public school system, medical professionals and other
community agencies to provide necessary services. |
